Director and Makeup Artist from Ahvaz's Nasr Cultural Institute were arrested on Wednesday by Iranian Intelligence Service.

Hassan Sobhipour, the head of the institution, and Hossein Eshghyan (Saki), the makeup artist were reportedly accused of producing a number of musical works, representing the Arabic culture of Ahwazi people.

Their latest work, called “Unity of the Arab People of Ahwaz”, is especially unacceptable by Iranian regime, human rights activists report.

Sobhipour was arrested early morning while he was home. His co-worker Eshghian is reportedly kidnapped from his office.

The sources have added that arrest of the artists and cultural activists is due to the absence of the regime's symbols such as the image of Khamenei, the Supreme Leader, in the recently released music videos.

The music video “Call of Unity” (Nashid Al Wahdeh) has been widely distributed in the Internet and is welcomed by the Ahwazi people.

The Nasr Cultural Institution has produced and published various music videos about social and cultural issues in the last two years.
