Esmaeil Bakhshi, an Iranian worker and prominent labour activist, lost consciousness during a family visit, Haft Tappeh workers syndicate reported on Sunday, citing his lawyer.

Bakhshi’s family are concerned about their son’s critical health situation. Bakhshi has also publicly talked about his health problem since his first time in jail as a result of tortures.

“After two months, I still feel pain in my left ear, kidneys, testicles and my broken ribs,” Bakhshi explained in a post on his Instagram at that time.

“Mental tortures were even worse than physical ones, I don’t know what has happened to me that my hands are shaking and now I am afraid of everything,” he explained.

“My client (Bakhshi) is under constant pressure. He lost consciousness temporally during his family visit,” Bakhshi’s lawyer, Farzaneh Zilabi, was quotes on Sunday as saying by the worker syndicate.

This is the second time Iran has arrested Bakhshi due to his participation in workers protests over late payment and financial crisis.
