The Islamic Revolutionary Court in Shiraz has sentenced three attorneys—Nazanin Salari, Mahmoud Taravatrooy, and Masoud Ahmadian—to three years in prison and a two-year travel ban, including the invalidation of their passports.

Sina Yousafi, a human rights lawyer based in Germany, announced the verdict on the social media platform X, stating that the Islamic Republic had charged the three lawyers with “assembly and collusion to commit crimes against national security” and “propaganda against the state.”

Ms. Salari and Messrs. Taravatrooy and Ahmadian are attorneys who have long been active in political, ideological, and security-related cases. According to Yousafi, Iranian authorities have been pursuing legal cases against the three lawyers since 2020.

Yousafi stated that the charges and convictions stem from their participation in seminars and meetings concerning children's and women's rights, as well as their efforts to promote legal reforms addressing domestic violence through dialogue with members of parliament and local councils.

Other activities cited in the case against the lawyers reportedly include participation in programs aimed at combating violence against women, distributing badges bearing the slogans “No to Violence Against Women” and “No to Child Marriage,” giving interviews about their clients' situations and alleged violations of their rights, and speaking publicly about legal violations.
