On Thursday, December 18, 2025, security forces from the Islamic Republic’s Intelligence Organization launched a violent raid on a private residence in Urmia, arresting three members of a Kurdish family and transferring them to an undisclosed location.
According to reports received by Avatoday, the detainees have been identified as Sufi Rostami (60, from Bayangan), his wife Zeynab Yousefpour (49, from Bukan), and their daughter Shilan Rostami (23). The raid reportedly occurred around 5:00 PM without the presentation of a judicial warrant.
Zeynab Yousefpour is the sister of Fattah Yousefpour, who had previously been arrested under similar circumstances on October 28, 2024. Fattah had been released on bail after 20 days of detention pending trial.
As of this report, the specific charges against the family members and their current whereabouts remain unknown. This incident follows a broader wave of detentions in the region; earlier this week, on December 15 and 16, four other Kurdish citizens from Abdanan, Ilam Province, were also taken into custody by intelligence forces.
