According to reports received by Avatoday, at noon on Sunday, September 21, Timour Khaledian, a civil and human rights activist, was arrested and transferred to Qorveh prison on charges of “propaganda activities against the regime” after filing a complaint against a judge in Serishabad court.
Sources confirm that Khaledian, a resident of Malayer in Hamadan Province, was detained on Sunday following a court session in the city of Serishabad, Qorveh, and subsequently charged with “propaganda against the Islamic Republic.” He was taken to Qorveh prison.
He had previously been released temporarily on bail. Ultimately, the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Malayer, presided over by Judge Behnam Rezavandi, sentenced him to 20 months of imprisonment and an additional 3 months suspended.
This civil activist had already been arrested in 2015 and 2016 for sending reports from Malayer prison to human rights media outlets.
It is noteworthy that in his earlier testimonies, Khaledian had exposed cases of torture and sexual abuse at Police Station No. 12 in Pasdaran, Malayer. He stated that under orders described as “worse than Kahrizak,” officers brutally assaulted him in groups and then sexually abused him with batons—acts that caused him severe physical harm and long-lasting suffering.
