In the continuation of the anti-Kurdish policies of the Islamic Republic of Iran, the security forces did not allow people to celebrate Newroz in the village of Aichi in Saqiz city.

According to a report received by Avatoday, on Thursday, March 21, 2024, the security forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran prevented anyone from participating in the Newroz celebrations in the village of Aichi in Saqiz province.

According to witnesses, the security forces summoned the organizers of the ceremony and warned them that they had no right to organize the Newroz ceremony, so they would arrest them in case of any activity.

The Islamic Republic forces also blocked the main roads and prevented people from entering. According to witnesses, hundreds of families had traveled long distances to participate in the ceremony and were forced to return to their towns and villages.

Earlier, the security forces had prevented the celebration of Newroz in Sanandaj and Kangavar by intimidating the Kurdish people. But despite the threat, most Kurdish cities and villages have celebrated Newroz.
