Iranian lawmaker told IRNA if the Western side wants a deal, it must accept the Islamic Republic’s conditions including the removal of all nuclear-related sanctions.

Zohreh Elahian described the Vienna talks, which aims at reviving the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran, as tough and serious.

Elahian added that if the Vienna talks do not result in sanctions removal, then Iran will take steps to guarantee its economic success more than ever before to help blunt the impact of the sanctions.

She didn’t elaborate on these steps Iran wants to take in case the negotiations fail.

The Vienna talks, which involved Iran as well as Britain, China, France, Germany and Russia directly, and the United States indirectly, resumed in late November with the aim of restoring the landmark deal.

On Friday, Iranian top negotiator Ali Bagheri Kani held a meeting with the EU coordinator Enrique Mora, and later with representatives of UK, France, and Germany in Vienna.

Earlier on Wednesday, in a twitter post, Kani wrote that "After weeks of intense negotiations, we are closer to an agreement than ever. Nothing is agreed until everything is agreed."

State Department spokesperson told AFP that “if Iran shows seriousness, we can and should reach an understanding on mutual return to full implementation of the JCPOA within days,” using an acronym for the nuclear deal.
