The United Kingdom on Sunday publicly told Iran to seize a "last chance" to bring serious proposals to the negotiation table to revive a 2015 nuclear deal.

"This is the last chance for Iran to come to the negotiating table with a serious resolution to this issue, which has to be agreeing the terms of the JCPOA," British Foreign Secretary Liz Truss said at a G7 meeting in Liverpool in reference to the 2015 Joint Comprehensive Plan Of Action.

On Saturday, Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi claimed that Tehran is serious in the talks with world powers in Vienna.

Former US President Donald Trump withdrew from the deal in 2018, deeming it insufficient to shut down projects with bomb-making potential. Iran denies seeking nuclear arms, but has breached the deal with expanded uranium enrichment.

US President Joe Biden has sought a return to the JCPOA, but Iran’s requests and changing of stances prevent the parties from reaching an agreement.

"This is their last chance and it is vital that they do so," Truss warned. "We will not allow Iran to acquire a nuclear weapon."

German Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock also warned on Saturday that “time is running out” on saving the deal.
