The intelligence agency of Iranian revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) and the country’s intelligence agency known as Etelaat have arrested at least 53 Kurdish nationals in the last ten days, sources and family friends told Avatoday on condition of anonymity.


The mass arrest took place in Kurdistan and West Azerbaijan provinces. All the detainees have been transferred to unknown locations and no charges have been clarified yet.

Hengaw Human Rights Organization published the names of detainees in Mahabad, Mariwan, Bukan, Naghadeh, Sarvabad, Piranshahr, Kalatarzan, Rabat, Sanandaj and Baneh in the Kurdistan and West Azarbaijan provinces.

Kurdish Iranian on social media urged human rights organizations including Amnesty International “to investigate” the mass arrest of the Kurds in Iran.
