German Foreign Minister Heiko Maas on Monday held talks with his French and British counterparts in Berlin to discuss the future status of the 2015 nuclear deal with Iran.

The three powers accused Tehran of constantly breaching its commitments under the deal.

"In our opinion, Iran is systematically violating the agreement," a spokeswoman with the German Foreign Ministry said.

Tehran has repeatedly breached limits on enriching uranium set in the nuclear agreement in what it portrays as a calculated and justified response to Trump's decision to withdraw from the deal in 2018.

The German spokeswoman also added that European countries believe in the necessity of Iran’s change of attitude.

"We urge Iran to commit to its obligations and stop these violations," she said.

The agreement sought to prevent the Islamic Republic of Iran from reaching nuclear weapons.
