The head of UK’s Royal Navy Admiral Tony Radakin told BBC English on Tuesday that Iran’ threats on the British shipping in the Gulf have not disappeared.
Radakin has emphasized on the necessity of UK’s military presences in the Gulf waters as Tehran’s threats “hasn’t gone away.”
In July, Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps seized a British-flagged tanker called Stena Impero.
Regarding the seizure, the UK’s Navy chief said that, “It was an outrageous act that happened on the high seas and that’s why we have responded the way that we have.”
UK has joined a US-led coalition, known as “operation Sentinel” to protect ships navigating in the Gulf.
