Following the recent nationwide uprising in Iran, the repressive Islamic Republic continues to intensify a new wave of widespread and arbitrary arrests, seeking to create an atmosphere of fear and suffocation within society.

According to student sources, Mohammad Esmaeili, 26, from Marivan and a graduate in Electrical Engineering from Isfahan University of Technology, was arrested more than three weeks ago by intelligence agents.

After three weeks of complete enforced disappearance and total lack of information for his family, he was allowed only a brief and limited phone call to his sister, during which he confirmed that he was in detention.
Since that moment, no information has been made available regarding his place of detention or his condition.

In Qazvin, Sarina Rezaei, a 16–17-year-old eleventh-grade student, has been detained since January 2026 and has been deprived of attending school and classes for over a month.

At the same time, her mother, Zahra Torkamani, is also being held in detention at Chubindar Prison in Qazvin.

In Mashhad, Leila Bakhshandeh-Far, a lecturer at Payame Noor University with 12 years of teaching experience, was arrested on January 3, 2026, following what sources described as a violent raid by security forces on her private residence. She was subsequently transferred to Vakilabad Prison.

She had previously been barred from teaching during the “Woman, Life, Freedom” movement. Since her arrest, she has been denied the right to contact her family, and her relatives are reportedly under intense pressure and threats to remain silent.

As long as this authoritarian regime remains in power, each passing day brings another grieving family, another disappeared young person, and another student deprived of their future.
