Last year, which coincides with the continuation of the women's uprising, life, freedom, repression, and suffocation imposed by the Islamic Republic reached its peak. In this way, during the year 2023, five Kurdish language teachers were arrested and put on trial only on the charge of teaching the mother tongue to the children of Kurdistan.

According to Avatody's report, although the principles of human rights emphasize teaching the mother language, the institutions of the Islamic Republic arrested five Kurdish teachers on the pretext of teaching the Kurdish language last year alone.

Based on the statistics of the Avatody news center, these five teachers have been sentenced to a total of 36 years in prison by the courts of the Islamic Republic of Iran.

The courts of the Islamic Republic have even completed the height of scandal and dishonor and have sentenced these teachers to endure whipping, and a total of 80 lashes have been issued to them.

The identity and verdicts issued against these teachers include:

It should be noted that Idris Manbari and Sivan Ibrahim have been sentenced to prison in two separate cases and two different courts.

Sivan Ebrahimi one year of imprisonment and 40 lashes, Varan Mohammadnejad one year of suspended imprisonment, Idris Manbari 10 years of imprisonment, Sarveh Pourmohammadi 10 years of imprisonment, Sivan Ebrahimi 10 years of imprisonment, Idris Manbari one year of imprisonment and 40 lashes, Azad Amini three years of suspended imprisonment.

The fascist policies of the centralist governments ruling Iran, both during the imperial regime and the Islamic Republic, have imposed irreparable human and material costs on the Kurdish nation in Iranian Kurdistan.

In this regard, Reza Washahi, a human rights activist, in an interview with Deutsche Welle, referring to the Iranian government's policy of eliminating native languages other than Farsi, said: "Unfortunately, in Iran, large populations cannot study in their mother tongues. Naturally, their children have a drop in education and cannot develop culturally, and their identity is under threat."
