Iran’s Fars news agency on Saturday reported the death of A senior member of Iran’s Revolutionary Guards, Farhad Dabirian, in Syria without elaborating on the cause of his death.
Iran is highly criticized for its heavy presence in Syria fighting alongside its Shiite proxies and Bashar Assad’s regime in the past nine years of the deadly war in Syria.
According to Reuters The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights, a UK-based organization which monitors the war, said a senior Iranian Revolutionary Guards’ commander was assassinated in the Sayeda Zeinab area south of Damascus.
