Ahvaz Human Rights Organization has warned of the imminent execution of 30 detained Arab activists, for being involved in an attack on a military parade of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps back in September 2018 in the city of Ahvaz, Southern Iran.

Local sources have also reported that, “concerns are growing regarding the secret and imminent execution of 30 Arab activists who have been subjected to torture and forceful confess by the security forces while in custody.”

Iran’s Ministry of Intelligence has previously published a video footage, showing the arrest of 22 people and has claimed that the captured individuals were involved “either in supporting or coordinating” the shooting at the military parade in September 2018.

A statement issued by the Ahwaz Human Rights Organization says, “While condemning all death sentences, we call for transparency and public hearing for the defendants and other Arab activists. We urge UN authorities and international organizations of Human rights to pressure Iranian judiciary to allow family visits for all detainees.”

Ahvaz Human Rights Organization also condemns retaliatory measures against people in Ahvaz and peaceful Arab activists in Iran and calls for Javaid Rahman the UN special rapporteur on human rights in Iran to intervene by “conducting an independent investigation into the death sentences and the widespread and indiscriminate detention process against Arab activists and Arab citizens in Iran.”

Last year, four unknown gunmen attacked an annual military parade in the city of Ahvaz southwestern Iran. The Shooters killed 25 people, including soldiers and IRGC members. Days later ISIS took the responsibility, however Iran blames Arab anti-government activists for carrying out the attack.
