Ebrahim Raisi, Iran’s Chief Justice announced on Tuesday that the wealth owned by Iranian officials must remain confidential, Iran’s state media ISNA reported.
Iranian parliament has previously approved a law on “investigating the wealth of the government’s officials” in 2015.
“The data must of course be keeping in a confidential network, while considering security mechanisms, protecting confidentiality and privacy and accuracy,” Raisi announced in a letter.
US Embassy in Baghdad reported late April that Islamic Republic’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei has a fortune of $200 billion dollars and that he is overseeing a network of corruption.
“The possessions of the current supreme leader Ali Khamenei alone are estimated at $200 billion, while many people languish in poverty because of the dire economic situation in Iran after 40 years of rule by the mullahs,” the embassy posted on its Facebook Page.
Reuters estimated Khamenei’s wealth at $95 billion back in 2013.
According to documents received by Avatoday, a number of top Iranian officials, who are also linked to Ali Khamenei, have been participating in Iran’s historical corruption scandal, estimated to be around 14 thousand billion US Dollar.
The documents show a member of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), Ali Ansari, who has a very close tie with Mojtaba Khamenei, Supreme Leader’s son, is managing the embezzlement.
Most of the investments project outside of Iran are hotels, companies, transportation and entertainment projects owned by Ansari.
