An Iranian navy helicopter came close to a US Navy warship in the Gulf of Oman and circled it three times, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
According to Pentagon’s statement published on Monday, the incident ended without an impact on US operations.
“Pentagon spokesman John Kirby said the Iranian helicopter came within 25 yards (75 feet) of the Essex warship,” said Reuters.
"It's dangerous because it could lead to miscalculations," Kirby reportedly said.
The exact time of the incident is not clear.
