People in Iran’s southwestern province of Khuzestan took the streets on Saturday condemning lack of water, electricity and other public services.

According to the videos received by Avatoday, protesters say building dozens of dams are the cause of the water crisis in the province.

Hundreds of hectares of agricultural lands have reportedly dried up in recent years.

Iran is facing severe drought which the Iranian government blames power cut and water shortage on.

Environmentalists and experts on the other hand, say mismanagement of water resources and crypto mining are the main causes of water and electricity crisis in Iran.

Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) is blamed for illegal crypto mining in order to evade US sanctions.
