Iranian President said Sunday his country will comply with the 2015 nuclear deal with world powers only if the United States lifts economic sanctions on Tehran.
In a meeting with Irish Minister of Foreign Affairs Simon Coveney, Hassan Rouhani said: “Iran is ready to immediately take compensatory measures based on the nuclear deal and fulfill its commitments just after the US illegal sanctions are lifted and it abandons its policy of threats and pressure.”
Rouhani criticized the European signatories of the deal for what he said was their inaction on their commitments to the agreement.
He claimed that Iran is the only country that kept its side of the bargain.
Earlier, Iranian Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei said Iran might enrich uranium up to 60% purity if the country needed, state television reported.
The remarks came as Iran is constantly increasing pressures on European powers and the US, hoping for the American’s return to the 2015 deal.
