Iran executes political activist from Baluchestan

Iran hanged Abdolhamid Mir-Baluchzehi, a Baluchi political activist from Zahedan in Sistan-Baluchestan Province on Saturday morning, the news outlet of Islamic Republic Judiciary Mizan reported.

Mir-Baluchzehi was arrested in Sistan and Baluchestan's Iranshahr in 2015. In a closed trial, he was convicted of killing two Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) members and was sentenced to death by Zahedan's Revolutionary court in 2018, a charge that human rights activists doubted due to lack of evidence.

Islamic Republic of Iran also charged Mir-Baluchzehi with being one of the members of "Jaish al-Adl terrorist group." `

Jaish al-Adl, a Sunni organization was founded in 2012 by Baluch nationalists. it's leader Abdolmalek Rigi was hanged by Islamic Republic in 2010.  

Behruz Shaker, a Kurdish political activist was also sentenced to death for the second time by the Urmia Revolutionary Court on Saturday on charges of membership with a Kurdish opposition party and killing an Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps  (IRGC ) member.

Shaker was earlier sentenced to death by Urmila's Second Branch of Revolutionary Court in September.
