Iran’s parliament is working on a plan to change Tehran’s International airport, Mehrabad, to “Qassem Suleimani” to tribute the top general, who was killed last year by the US.

“According to the plan, Tehran has two airports and one of them is named after founder of the Islamic Revolution Imam Khomeini and the other should be named after the international hero of fight against arrogant powers,” Tehran Times said on Friday.

Iran’s top general and commander of Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps's Quds forces Qassem Suleimani and Hezbollah chief Abu Mahdi Al Muhandis were killed in the US strikes in Iraq on President Donald Trump’s order.

US has designated the entire Iranian Revolutionary Guard Corps including Soleimani’s Quds unit as a terrorist group.
