Kurdish people from all towns and cities of Iranian Kurdistan were on public strike Wednesday September 12th against the Islamic Republic’s recent execution of three Kurdish political prisoners and the regime’s rocket attacks on Kurdish Democratic Party camps in Iraqi Kurdistan.
Thousands of shops and markets were closed in Sanandaj, Kermanshah, Sarpol Zahab, Marivan, Kamyaran, Bana, Ghorveh, Bokan, Mahabad, Sardasht, Piranshahr, Saqez, Orumiyeh, Qasre Shirin and Oshnavia in solidarity to the families of victims of executions and rocket attacks.
“We from the city of Saqez joined other Kurdish cities to show our anger over the recent executions and bloody attacks against the Kurdistan Democratic Party by the Islamic Republic of Iran,” a shop owner told Avatoday on Wednesday.
The Islamic Republic of Iran executed three Kurdish political activists, Ramin Hussein Panahi, Luqman Moradi and Zanyar Moradi on early Saturday September 8th despite the international efforts to stop their sentences.
Iranian forces heavily stroke the headquarters of the Iranian-Kurdish Democratic Party in Koya in the same day, killed 17 and wounded 40 others.
“Today’s strike was not only a regular strike, but a clear protest to the very existence of the Islamic regime and a direct protest against Ali Khamenei (Iran’s supreme leader), who is top sponsor of terrorism,” a woman from the city of Qasre Shirin talked to Avatoday on condition of anonymity.
A number of Kurdish civil activists were reportedly detained today by security forces. Aram Fathi, Soran Daneshvar, and Moslem Bahrami from Marivan and Mokhtar Zarei, Khaled Husseini, Mozafar Salehnia from Sanandaj are among the detainees.
Videos received by Avatoday show a number of security and intelligence forces with coloring spry in their hands and painting signs on the closed shop doors in order to recognize the owners and shop keepers later on.
The call for public strike came from the Iranian Kurdistan political opposition parties who have recently established a center for the parties’ mutual programs. Most of the Iranian Kurdish opposition parties became a member of the new organization called The Center of Alliance for Iranian-Kurdish Political Parties.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards in a report published in Tasnim news agency on the rocket attacks against the Kurdish parties, expressed their anger over the establishment of The Center of Alliance for Iranian-Kurdish Political Parties, considered as a new threat to the regime.
